To update several locations or to create several locations simultaneously, it is possible to import locations with an Excel file.
In the menu "Locations", click on "Import".
It is recommended to use a pre-filled Excel file to get the structure of the file. There is two options for that :
- If you already have some locations, you can export all your locations you want to update, and add new locations if needed.
- For a first import, it is recommended to download the template which contains the header of the Excel file and an exemple line.
In the "Points of Sale" section of the left side menu, click on "Import".
For further explanations on the content of the import file, please refer to Import file format.
To create a location, the following fields are required :
- Location name
- Address 1. The one for the default language if several languages are set up.
- City. The one for the default language if several languages are set up.
- Country code. The one for the default language if several languages are set up.
- If you have the "Presence" offer, the phone number and the zip code.
To update a location, the Bridge ID column is required and must contain the identifier of the location, which is automatically included in the export file of locations.
After updating your Excel file, there will be 2 steps for your import :
1. Preview of the import results
2. Execution of the import
1. Preview of the import results
Choose the file you want to import :
Once the file is selected, the analysis of your file is executed. According to the size of your file, it may take a while (several minutes).
You can continue to use BRIDGE normally. Anytime, you can come back to this screen and see if the analysis is still going on.
During this analysis, your network will not be updated. Only the real execution of the import (next step) will bring some modifications to it.
Once the analysis is finished, preview the impacts of your import on your network to see which locations will be created, updated, unchanged or rejected.
To consult all the modifications, download the analysis report.
It indicates for each line what will be the action on the location (column Result) :
- TO_CREATE : a new location will be created.
- TO_UPDATE : a location will be updated. The modifications are listed in the column Result detail.
- IGNORED : no change have been detected for this location.
- REJECTED : there is an error in at least one fields of the location. The message error will be displayed in the column Result detail (see Causes of reject when importing locations)
- ERROR : there have been a technical error for this line. Please contact the support if it's happening.
If the results of the analysis are conformed to what you change in your network, click on "Start import" to run the import.
If they are not, click on "Cancel import". You can then update directly the analysis report et do a new import with this report.
Note : If one of the column is not recognized (see Import file format), it will be ignored or you can map the datas.
2. Execution of the import
The import can take a while (several minutes) according to the size of the import file. You can continue to use BRIDGE normally. Anytime, you can come back to this screen and see if the import is still going on.
Once the import is finished, you will see the updates applied to your network. Download the import report to check the action on each of your locations.
These import results can be different of the analysis results in the previous step.
E.g : as the line are processed one by one, the error of duplicated data (with Custom ID for instance) will be raised only when the import is executed.
The results of the last import will be displayed in the "Import V2" page, unless there is an import in progress.
If you have visited another pages on BRIDGE and then come back to the import page, and if you see the welcome page of the import, it means that the import you launched is finished. You can see all the information about it in the bottom of the page.
